Artreach... Young women's creating in Darebin

She Said…….

A series of artworks created by young women within the City of Darebin


ARTreach YWCA Victoria and Darebin City Council have been working in partnership to provide young women within the Darebin Municipality with the opportunity to express themselves through various visual arts mediums. The young women have create various artworks in photographic, video and stencil art mediums in response to the themes of public safety and bullying, body image, and young motherhood. The young women have individually and collaboratively created beautiful and insightful artwork that sends a clear message to their peers and their community within the City of Darebin.


ARTreach is a unique eight week community arts program that assists young women increase skills in leadership, team participation, creative thinking, decision making and peer and community engagement. The program empowers participants to individually and collaboratively explore concepts and ideas that affect them as individuals within their community through the engagement of various innovative visual arts mediums.


Come and absorb the “visual voice’ of young women within the City of Darebin and celebrate their achievements.
